16-Channel Wavelength Division Multiplexers Based on Subwavelength Grating

Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) plays an important role in optical interconnection. In this paper, a 16-channel WDM device is designed on Silicon-On-Insulator (SOI) substrate by using sub-wavelength grating (SWG) structure, which can cover O-band and C-band at the same time, output channel reversely coupled from main waveguide to realize wavelength demultiplexing. The simulation results show that loss of our demultiplexing less than 0.5 dB crosstalk 17 dB. When performed O-band, transmission bus 0.05 insensitive duty cycle, with good process tolerance. footprint 200 μm × 150 μm, size single-channel filter 2 large bandwidth compact structure.
